The Lighting Series

Theme: Sports Editorial

Join us for a photography workshop focused on the art of capturing dynamic athletic movement. Through guided instruction and hands-on shooting, we'll explore how timing, composition, and lighting work together to create images that feel powerful, energetic, and campaign-ready.

This workshop is designed for photographers who want to elevate their action photography while refining their technical approach, resulting in striking, editorial-quality images that could live in any sports campaign or commercial shoot.

Edit with our mentors after the workshop (5:30-6:30pm). Bring your laptop with Lightroom and/or Photoshop for tips and tricks on getting your images ready for print!

  • The lighting workshops focus on studio lighting. All workshop attendees should know how to operate their camera, and understand the basics of photography - aperture, shutter speed and ISO - these will not be covered during the class.

  • If you have a light trigger, bring that with you. If you don’t have one, we do have a few that participants can share. The studio is equipped with everything you’ll need for the workshop experience, except for you and your camera!

  • If you’d like to purchase a light trigger, we recommend one of the two below.
